Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is a national recreation area and conservation unit of the United States National Park Service that encompasses the area around Lake Powell and lower Cataract Canyon in Utah and Arizona, covering 1,254,429 acres (5,076.49ย km2) of mostly rugged high desert terrain. The recreation area is named for Glen Canyon, which was flooded by the Glen Canyon Dam, completed in 1966, and is now mostly submerged beneath the waters of Lake Powell.

Glen Canyon Open Hours

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is open 24 hours per day, year-round. If there is not a person staffing the entrance station, you may pay your entrance fee at the automated fee machine. Launch ramps are open all day, unless closed due to low water.

Park Headquarters

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Rainbow Bridge National Monument Headquarters, located in Page, Arizona. This is an office building, closed to the public. Park Headquarters is not a visitor center. Please drive five miles north to Carl Hayden Visitor Center for information needs. Open weekdays 7am-4pm, closed weekends and Federal Holidays.
