Your Genshin 5.8 Phase 1 Loadouts Are Ready: Tool Update

The air in Teyvat is electric, Travelers! As we stand on the precipice of the fiery lands of Natlan, the hype for Version 5.8 is reaching a fever pitch. The first phase banners are almost here, bringing with them a torrent of new power, and you know what that means: it’s time to get your accounts ready. We’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes, and we’re thrilled to announce that our character builder and team optimizer are fully updated for Genshin Impact Version 5.8 Phase 1!

This isn’t just a simple data dump. We’ve meticulously theorycrafted, analyzed, and prepared comprehensive day-one loadouts for the brand-new 5-star Pyro DPS, Xylia, and the charming 4-star Anemo support, Kael. Plus, with the highly anticipated rerun of the Hydro Archon, Furina, we’ve revisited her builds to highlight her incredible new synergies. Whether you’re planning to wish, saving your primogems, or just want to stay ahead of the meta, this update has everything you need to hit the ground running.

Xylia, the Flameforged Vanguard: Full Build Guide

Get ready to set the world on fire. Xylia is a 5-star Pyro Claymore user from Natlan who introduces a powerful new stance-change mechanic called Volcanic Fury. By consuming a portion of her HP, she enters an empowered state that infuses her attacks with Pyro, increases her ATK Speed, and changes her Normal Attack multipliers. She’s an on-field hypercarry who thrives on aggressive, relentless assault.

Her core gameplay revolves around managing her HP and maximizing uptime on her Volcanic Fury stance. This makes her a perfect partner for supports who can provide healing, resistance to interruption, and massive damage buffs—sound familiar, Furina fans?

Best-in-Slot & Alternative Loadouts

To get the most out of Xylia, you’ll want to focus on CRIT, ATK%, and enough Energy Recharge to maintain her burst, which initiates the Volcanic Fury stance.

Best-in-Slot (BiS) Build

Slot Recommendation Notes
Weapon Heart of the Caldera (5-Star Claymore) Her signature weapon provides a massive CRIT DMG stat and a passive that boosts ATK based on HP fluctuations, a perfect synergy.
Artifacts 4-Piece Echoes of the Embersoaked Peak The new artifact set tailor-made for her. It provides a 2pc ATK% bonus and a 4pc effect that grants a significant DMG bonus when the wielder consumes HP.
Main Stats ATK% Sands / Pyro DMG Goblet / CRIT Rate or DMG Circlet Standard DPS setup. Go with the CRIT circlet that best balances your ratio.
Substat Priority CRIT Rate/DMG > ATK% > Energy Recharge > Elemental Mastery ER needs are around 120-140% depending on the team. EM is valuable in Vaporize comps.

Alternative & F2P Options

  • Weapons: If you don't get her signature, don't fret. Beacon of the Reed Sea is a phenomenal alternative due to its CRIT Rate and ATK-boosting passive. Serpent Spine (R5) from the Battle Pass is, as always, a top-tier contender. For a strong F2P option, the craftable Tidal Shadow from Fontaine becomes excellent in teams with a dedicated healer, providing a huge ATK% buff.
  • Artifacts: The go-to alternative is 4-piece Marechaussee Hunter. Since Xylia constantly manipulates her own HP, she can maintain the 36% CRIT Rate bonus with 100% uptime, making it incredibly efficient to build. You can also run 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames in Vaporize teams or a standard 2pc Pyro DMG / 2pc ATK% combination.

Top Team Synergies for Xylia

Xylia’s kit practically screams for specific teammates. Here are her three premier archetypes:

  1. Vaporize Fury (Her Best Team): Xylia / Furina / Kael / Bennett. This team is the whole package. Furina provides insane DMG% buffs and off-field Hydro. Kael (our new 4-star) offers healing, VV shred, and an EM buff. Bennett provides his iconic ATK buff and Pyro resonance. The synergy here is off the charts.
  2. Overload Onslaught: Xylia / Chevreuse / Fischl / Beidou. A powerful and explosive option. Chevreuse provides massive buffs and resistance shred in Overload-only teams. Fischl and Beidou offer constant Electro application and substantial off-field damage.
  3. Mono Pyro Might: Xylia / Kaedehara Kazuha / Xiangling / Bennett. A classic for a reason. Kazuha provides grouping, VV shred, and Elemental DMG bonus. Xiangling adds immense off-field Pyro damage, and Bennett is the final piece of the ATK-buffing puzzle.

Kael, the Zephyr's Whisper: Support Build Guide

Don't sleep on the new 4-star! Kael is an Anemo Catalyst user who carves out a unique niche as a team-wide healer and Elemental Mastery buffer. His Elemental Skill creates a soothing gust that heals all party members based on his Max HP, and his Burst leaves behind a field that provides continuous healing and grants a flat EM bonus to the active character.

His ability to consolidate healing, VV shred, and EM buffs makes him an incredibly slot-efficient support, especially for reaction-based carries like Xylia or Alhaitham.

Full Support Build

Slot Recommendation Notes
Weapon Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (R5) The HP% secondary stat is perfect for his healing, and the massive ATK buff for your main DPS is invaluable. It's his undisputed BiS.
Artifacts 4-Piece Viridescent Venerer As an Anemo support, shredding enemy Elemental RES by 40% is non-negotiable. This is his primary role.
Main Stats Energy Recharge Sands / HP% Goblet / HP% or Healing Bonus Circlet Prioritize getting his Burst back, then stack HP for bigger heals. Use a Healing Bonus circlet if your HP is already high.
Substat Priority Energy Recharge > HP% > Flat HP Aim for 180-200% ER to ensure smooth rotations. After that, it's all about HP.

For alternatives, Prototype Amber is a great craftable choice if you need even more team healing and help with his energy needs. Favonius Codex can also work to make him a better battery for the team, but requires building some CRIT Rate.

Furina's Rerun: A Refreshed Perspective

The Hydro Archon is back, and her value has only skyrocketed. If you missed her the first time, this is a golden opportunity. While her core build (Golden Troupe, HP%/HP%/CRIT, Festering Desire/Fleuve Cendre) remains the same, her true strength is revealed with every new character that manipulates their own HP.

Unlocking Xylia's Potential

Furina is, without a doubt, Xylia's single best teammate. Here’s why:

  • Massive DMG Buff: Xylia's self-inflicted HP drain rapidly builds Furina's Fanfare stacks, maxing out her team-wide DMG% buff faster than almost any other character.
  • Consistent Vaporize: Furina's Salon Solitaires provide constant, off-field Hydro application, enabling Xylia to consistently trigger Vaporize on her powerful, infused attacks.
  • Healing Resolution: The only downside of Furina is the team-wide HP drain. However, with a dedicated healer like Kael or Bennett in the party (which you want anyway), this is completely mitigated, turning the mechanic into a pure upside.

If you plan on pulling for Xylia, pulling for Furina is one of the biggest upgrades you can give her team. Our tool now features dedicated team comp analysis highlighting this incredible pairing.

What's New in the Tool?

This update is packed with new data and a few quality-of-life improvements to help you prepare:

  • Character Pre-Builds: Xylia and Kael are now in the character database with our recommended day-one builds. You can start slotting them into your teams immediately.
  • New Weapons & Artifacts: Heart of the Caldera and Echoes of the Embersoaked Peak have been added, with their stats and passives fully implemented in our damage calculator.
  • Updated Team Optimizer: The optimizer's logic has been updated to recognize the powerful synergy between HP-draining mechanics (like Xylia's) and Fanfare generation for Furina, prioritizing these pairings.
  • UI Enhancements: We've made small tweaks to the interface to make it easier to compare different artifact sets and weapon choices for a single character.

Version 5.8 is shaping up to be a game-changer, and with these powerful new characters, preparation is key. Xylia brings a fresh and engaging playstyle to the Pyro DPS roster, while Kael offers a fantastic consolidation of support roles.
